Our client, a training provider are seeking to appoint a full time Inspirational Workshop Youth Trainer who can demonstrate considerable experience of working with disaffected young people from the age of 14 years upwards. As some young people have been excluded from mainstream education the successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to deal firmly but fairly with challenging behaviour.
By using a range of appropriate teaching and training methods there will be a need to identify and use suitable ways in which to engage and maintain the interest of young people in a workshop environment.
Experience in working with young people in activities appertaining to the Princes Trust or Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme or experience of working with Entry to Employment Learners will be a distinct advantage. A youth work qualification and a teaching qualification are both desirable.
Additional desirable qualities would be:
Experience of working within training or teaching;
experience in delivering numeracy and literacy awards;
relevant qualifications such as PTTLS/CTLLS/DTLLS or the Certificate in Eduction;
the capability and willingness to develop the house course file.
Commencing salary is between £18,000 to £21,000 per annum depending on skills/qualifications.
