Contract Type: Temporary - until 24/12/2008
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Shift times - 07:30 to 17:30
Salary and Benefits: earnings up to £17250 per annum, plus overtime if applicable
The job:
As a Collection and Delivery Driver you’ll be working from one of our depots, collecting and delivering parcels within the area. Your responsibilities will include:
driving a 3.5t van to deliver and collect approximately 100 parcels per day (after training) to customers at both residential and business addresses
planning a daily route to ensure all parcels are delivered/collected on time
scanning parcels on and off route to ensure tracking information is available to customers and colleagues
carrying out relevant safety checks on the vehicle
working as part of the wider Parcelforce Worldwide and depot team to improvement customer service
The individual:

Is a team player, willing and flexible enough to help colleagues to ensure that all our customers get their parcels on time
Enjoys customer interaction, and has good communication and interpersonal skills
Can plan a route to ensure all our parcels are delivered to the right place on time.
Works well under pressure, dealing with issues as they arise to ensure customers get great service.
Enjoys driving, even during peak traffic, and has a full driving licence covering vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (Category C1) and no more than six penalty points
Is able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 30kg
