Our client is looking to recruit a contractor for 9 months.
In this challenging role you will provide effective material characterisation (small molecules and polymers) to support our 2008 Research & Development targets. This role involves performing routine and complex analytical experiments. You will provide high quality data for all experiments; identify anomalies in polymer properties and provide clear conclusions and next step recommendations in the context of the project aims. You will work to identify new screening and rapid analysis techniques for evaluation of new materials and ensure data (monomer/polymer) is reported effectively internally and externally as required.
SKILLS: *Experience gained through research in analytical chemistry in an academic environment or within industry. *Ideally you will have a good knowledge base and understanding of how to run analytical areas such as CV, HPLC, ICP, LC-MS, FTIR, PLQY, GC-MS, TGA, DSC and NMR. *Computer literacy is essential, including familiarity with Windows 2007, Microsoft Office products and chemical-drawing packages would also be advantageous. *The ability to work on several analyses simultaneously without loss of efficiency or productivity is essential as is an ability to work unsupervised for long periods without losing touch with the aims of the team.
