TCL/LJ 12600: Our client seeks a Desktop Support Technician for an assignment within its Finance & Resources division.
We are acting for a NE London based local authority
The post will be located in Ilford, IG1 and will be for 37.50 hpw, Mon-Fri, normal business hours.
This is anticipated to be, initially at least, a 6 month assignment.
Please note that under a special arrangement we have with a leading umbrella company, temps who elect to get paid under this route will receive, in addition to a higher hourly rate of pay, the following benefits which are not available under PAYE:

Essence of role:
You will be engaged to provide 1st – 3rd line level support (including telephone duties at the helpdesk) and carry out local and on-site equipment installation and configuration. The role requires you:
• To maintain an up to date database on all service requests and actions taken to resolve them.
• To possess and maintain a high level of knowledge of hardware, software and operating systems used by the authority including proprietary applications
• To support remote networking technologies.
• Display a commitment to the highest level of service to the customers of ICT Services.
Candidate requirements (*indicates must be CLEARLY EVIDENT FROM YOUR CV, not just your covering letter, to avoid auto-rejection by client) include:
*Microsoft operating systems and application support accreditation
*Comprehensive and demonstrable practical hardware support experience, especially of PDA, desktop and server products
*Comprehensive and demonstrable practical knowledge of supporting Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, XP and Microsoft Office applications
*Possess first class problem solving skills up to 3rd level support in a busy working environment
*Experience of creating, managing and deployment of operating system and software builds
*Practical hardware and software installation, configuration and support experience
*Clean driving licence and use of a vehicle to travel between sites
UK local authority or other public sector experience advantageous, but not a prerequisite
