    Training provider are seeking to recruit a senior member of staff to take full ownership and responsibility for the management of one of the colleges training centres. The centre specialises in dealing with 16-18 year old unemployed young people on a range of government funded schemes (e2e, Foundation Learning Tier etc), and school aged learners on an in house Alternative Education Programme.
    Good theoretical and practical knowledge of teaching, training and learning are essential in order to advise and guide staff appropriately.
    Daily Centre Management:
    Ensure all staff are in attendance and prepared for the day
    Take appropriate action when staff are absent. Arrange room cover, reorganise staff duties, cancel appointment with employers etc
    General overall management to the team to ensure compliance with management requests and effective education of their individual roles.
    Monitoring Staff Performance
    Overseeing Keyworker and Trainer statistics: Late reviews; positive outcomes; qualificaiton outcomes; retention statistics, learners past and date etc
    Overseeing weekly placement figures
    Monthly and six monthly staff performance reviews-writing and delivering
    Chairing weekly youth meeting/taking minutes/performance v targets/agreeing group changes and notifying the administrator for register adjustment-feedback to management
    Human Resource & Staff Development
    Interviewing prospective new staff; compiling action plans for new staff
    Training of new staff where necessary and support and guidance of existing staff on an ongoing basis
    Back to work interviews following staff absences/sickness
    Supporting staff development, training and qualificaitons.
    External Networking
    Attending review meetings with external agencies, including Schools, Social Services, YOT, Parents, Child protection etc
    Attending Careers Conventions - this can involve you working in your own time (evenings) at local schools/colleges
    Promoting apprenticeship programmes when out and about
    Quality Development
    Modifying documentation where necessary in conjunction with the quality manager eg interview forms, file paperwork.
    Ensure ongoing development of curriculum across all strands of learning (Basic Skills, Personal and Social Development and Vocational Training)

    Hours are 8.45-5pm Monday to Friday although some flexibility will be required.
    Commencing salary in the region of £30k depending on skills/qualifications.
